What players at the Shrine Game week of practices did the NFC East teams talk to?

Sorry, Cowboys fans. I didn’t see any of your scouts speaking with anybody.  Your scouts were there, and maybe they were just very stealthy in their approach, but if they talked to guys after practice, I missed it.  For the rest of you, here were the players I saw speaking with NFC East teams after practices in the two days of practice that I attended:

Redskins

  • Keelan Johnson, S, Arizona St. – 6’1, 207. 88 tackles, 5 INT, 8 PBUs in 2012. Played RB in high school.
  • Bradley McDougald, S, Kansas – 6’1, 210. 92 tackles, 3 INT, in 2012. 89 tackles and 2 INT in 2011. All Big 12 2nd team (Coaches’ vote). Returned punts.
  • Will Pericak, DT, Colorado – 6’4, 295. 33 tackles, 2 sacks, 6 TFL in 2012. Has diabetes. Started all 48 games in his college career (Colorado University record).
  • Rod Sweeting, CB, Georgia Tech – 6’0, 187. 58 tackles, 1 INT, 1 sack, 7 PBUs in 2012.

Eagles

  • Josh Hill, TE, Idaho St. – 6’5, 229. 70 catches for 630 yards (9.0 per catch) and 5 TD in 2012.
  • T.J. Johnson, C, South Carolina – 6’5, 315. All SEC second team (Coaches’ vote).
  • A.J. Klein, LB, Iowa St. – 62, 244. 117 tackles (117 in 2011, 111 in 2010), 3.5 TFL, 1 sack, 1 INT in 2012. Has 4 pick 6’s the last 3 years.
  • Nathan Williams, LB, Ohio St. – 6’3, 249. Played DE at Ohio St. Had a knee injury in 2011, which was thought to be career threatening. 4.5 sacks and 8.5 TFL in 2010 (his last full season prior to injury). 39 tackles, 2 sacks, 3.5 TFL in 2012.

Giants

  • Trent Steelman, WR, Army – 6’0, 210. Played QB in college, transitioning to WR for the NFL. Did a little of everything at Shrine Game practices.  Played WR, a little RB, took some direct snaps, played in kick coverage, and even did some long snapping. Really interesting player.

Well yeah, of course Dallas isn’t talking to anyone. None of these guys are currently sidelined with injuries.

  2. T says:

Except Steelman has to go into the Army. DA G1 reneged on it last time with the kid that went to the Lions. Why would this be any different, or have I missed something?

Giants front office is patient, and they have a long relationship with the Army and West Point. They may have talked to him out of respect.

Cowboys talked withTeO!(Carter,Lee,Teo)(Teo & Jessica Simpson)

That’s OK, our Cowboys scouts don’t actually need to talk to any players. Talking to the Skeletor is all they need to do…

Good job with the updates on players in the Shrine game. Love the details.

By the way, can you update the salary cap status for each team when Free agency start?

    Thanks

    1. Thanks. And yes, will do.
