Sure the lack of pressure is a problem, but Jimmy I’d like to see you break down the run game. McCoy just doesn’t seem to be the same back that he was early last year. I did a quick box score breakdown from the last 2 season and came up with this:

    Last 11 games – 196 carries, 749 yards, 3.8 ypc
    Previous 10 games – 188 carries, 1019 yards, 5.4 ypc

    1. Peters and Kelce are badly missed.

BTW……….excellent work as usual. You clearly showed how shitty we were. Thanks for that.

  3. jjeaglerooter says:

as bad as that d-line looked at there jobs , I would have loved to see you follow that up by exposing how poorly our o-line held a clean pocket . It was a piss poor showing by our men in the trenches.I was completely dumbfounded by the inability of both squads. It was one of the most painful games for me to watch in quite a while.

  4. David_Does_Dallas says:

I don’t mind you writing about the Eagles all the time. As long as they are losing and you are pointing out how bad they are doing. It makes me feel a little better about our last place Cowboys. Keep up the great work!

Just finished watching the eagles game….Man, dunno what can be said.In my mind, the Eagles have always been a reflection of Reid and his mentality–a focused, fiery, smart competitor. I may be off the mark here, but its only been 2 short months since the worst day of his life. I can’t imagine what he’s going through at home, but its gotta have taken its toll on him. Can’t help but think that the eagles on field play is suffering without their HC providing that constant spark and drive every week. Very tough situation.

  6. SteveH says:

Wow. What makes that worse is the Lions have a bottom half of the league OL. Stafford must really suck because he was missing throw after throw despite those clean pockets.

  7. TylerD says:

Being that the Eagles are Jimmy’s squad I don’t have a problem with him covering them first in his write ups

  8. willgfass says:

What’d you use to take pictures of that? (I’m assuming you didn’t personally take a picture at the game of each snap)

Brilliant idea, and if it wasn’t so time consuming I’d ask for more of these kind of things.

And isn’t the Lions’ O-line supposed to be bad? Kind of frightening about a lack of pressure against these guys

    1. They’re just screen shots of the NFL Game Rewind feature. Easy to do, in this case. Just a little time consuming.

  9. peter says:

    Brilliant stuff jimmy

what happened to trent cole? he was arguably the best DE in football these last couple of years

now it seems like he can never turn the corner and tackles stalemate him with moderate ease

    1. ATLeagle says:

I am beginning to wonder if there wasnt a bit of a Patterson effect in the same way that the guy next to Peters always seems to be awesome. Something is off with this group.

  10. Todd B says:

I think it is time to ask the question, are Cole, Babin, and Jenkins now old?

Like RB, they just fall off the cliff. Happened with Hugh Douglas, happened with others.

    1. Mick says:

      Happening to Justin Tuck.

  11. Thiergow says:

It would be nice if a bblog dedicated to the NFC East would be less about the Eagles. I mean sure talking about the Eagles is part of the deal but what about the Cowboys, Giants and Redskins? Correct me if I’m wrong but I think they had games yesterday too 😉

    1. Ah, my weekly explanation of this. Covered the Eagles game in person, as I usually do. Haven’t watched the other games yet, and I’m not inclined to write about something I haven’t seen. We’ll get there. I promise.

      1. Mick says:

Giants/Niners was kind of the game of the week though…

        1. California is kind of a little far away. Jimmy only has so much resources – this isn’t necessarily a lucrative enterprise.

          1. Yep, ESPN didn’t even fly Graziano out to SF. I certainly can’t afford a $1,000 round trip flight on my own to a game I might not even get credentialed for if I tried.

            1. horatius says:

This is where we expect better performance from you Jimmy. We expect you to get off your lazy ass, find a second job or whatever it takes to earn that extra grand, ignore your day job, get your ass on a flight or a rented car to all nfceast game venues and create these instant blog posts for the pleasure of your 50 or so commenters.

Sounds easy enough. Now GET TO IT!!

    2. peter says:

I agree. Maybe jimmy should get some fans to help him with this blog for other teams. altho u dont want the blog to feel dumb-downed by incompetent writing

  12. Xian says:

Holy bejeesus! If I were the d-line, or Wash, I would be:

    a. Accusing you of child pornography and asking the FCC to shut your site down so no one has to see those horrific images.
    b. Offering you a generous package for the rights to your website, and then immediately shutting the site down.
    c. Any combination of stick and carrot as long as those pics are taken down now!

  13. OK, comment section is back. Apologies for that.
