To be determined how the $44.5 million and $17.5 guaranteed is spread out over the course of the deal. Brooks largely played on the left side as an OLB in the Niners’ 3-4 defense, much like Anthony Spencer did with Dallas. Here are their numbers for 2011. Personally, I’ll take Spencer’s over Brooks’, by a slight margin:

It looks like a good deal for Brooks, considering his career production. I would guess the Spencer camp likes what they see there. The franchise tag plot thickens.
