The Redskins are now 3-5. I killed them off last week in my stupid little recurring weekly heirarchy/obituary piece. To my mild surprise, none of my Skins fan readers argued in the comment section. Hell, even the Redskins radio announcers got sarcastically fired up for a rare Redskins TD yesterday.
I can see what search phrases are bringing traffic to my site, and this morning, all sorts of variations of “2012 Redskins draft picks” are popping up high on the list. I guess Skins fans are already looking forward to the offseason. To be fair, I was seeing a lot of “Eagles 2012 picks” searches when the Birds were 1-4, and a little sprinkling of “Cowboys 2012 picks” after their blowout loss to Philly. Haven’t seen too many inquiries into the Giants though.
I have the 2012 draft picks listed for all the NFC East teams in the menu at the upper right hand part of the blog here. Since I never look there on other blogs, I figure that a lot of you don’t either. Anyway, since there seems to be a decent enough interest in it, I figured I’d just make it a post. The Eagles, Cowboys, and Giants 2012 picks can be found here, here, and here. For now, since their season is pretty much kaput, we’ll focus on the Redskins’ 2012 picks below:
|Round||Original Owner of pick||Comments|
|4||Raiders||Jason Campbell trade|
|The Skins traded Vonnie Holliday and a 6th round pick for Tim Hightower. I’m not sure if the Skins traded this pick, or the one they acquired from the Vikings below. The Vikings are 2-6, so whether it’s this pick or the other shouldn’t be a huge difference, as both teams will be picking somewhere near the top of the order. I’ve also seen the pick in this deal be described as an “undisclosed conditional” pick, but for now, we’ll go ahead and trust azcentral.com.|
|6||Vikings||The Redskins traded Donovan McNabb for a 2012 6th round pick and a conditional 6th round pick in 2013|
