NFC East remaining strength of schedules: Cowboys’ is cake, Giants’ is nasty

Here they all are in one shot:

Remaining opponents’ combined records Wins Losses Winning %
Cowboys 26 35 42.62%
Redskins 29 34 46.03%
Eagles 25 29 46.30%
Giants 32 24 57.14%

And then look at the Giants. They’ll likely pick up the easy W after their bye against the God-awful Dolphins, but then it just gets nasty. In fact, if you take that Dolphins’ game out of the mix, the combined winning percentage becomes 62.75%, and the only opponents they’ll see with losing records are the Eagles, and Dallas twice, obviously three games that are far from easy:

    Cool sites…

[…]we came across a cool site that you might enjoy. Take a look if you want[…]……

  2. Hi there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing many months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any methods to stop hackers?

  3. That was very good, waitin’ for more about this.

  4. Great article! You wrote everything I was looking for.

  5. Hello. I found this one by google and it answered all my questions! Thank you

  6. […] took a look at the remaining schedules for NFC East teams over at Blogging The Beast.  It is dangerous to think definitively about games, but is interesting to see who each team has […]

  7. DCyanks21 says:

Dallas has the best chance of winning the NFC East. If they win their out of divisional games, and win 2-3 of their next 5 divisional games. 8-3 is possible with that schedule.

  8. ATLEagle says:

wow, Dallas faces a 34% winning percentage outside of the divisional games. They have to massively underperform or the Eagles will have to take care of business themselves.

  9. Immynimmy says:

God, that Cowboys schedule is so easy. Hopefully they continue to underperform.

  10. BigBad Joe says:

The Cowboys do have it “easy” going forward but they have had the toughest schedule so far…..

    1. BigBad Joe says:

The boys winning % of opp so far this year is 21-8 or 72.4%…..

  11. Anders says:

Of the remaining games for the Eagles, only the Cowboys, Bears, Patriots and Giants games could be loses. As it seems now, the Eagles best bet is to get to 9-7, but if they have really turned a corner 10-6 or 11-5 could be possible.

    1. Steve D. says:

While I like your confidence, it seems a little premature to say that none of the other games could be losses. The Eagles did just lose 4 straight before beating Washington. I’m sure before the season started not many people thought that the Eagles could lose to the niners or bills.

      1. Anders says:

Differense is that the Bills and the Niners are actually good teams this year and all 4 games we lost, we had a chance to win if either the defense could make 1 single stop or the offense would just produce one more TD.

        1. Steve D. says:

I agree with you that the eagles should win these game, but it is also possible for them to lose to bad teams (see Tuesday night Vikings game last year), and it is possible that some teams on the schedule may be better when we play them than we think they are right now (like the Jets).

I actually think (hope) that you are probably right, I just think it is too unpredictable to know for sure. Who would have thought that last year we could shut down Peyton Manning’s Colts, and then not be able to stop Joe Webb’s Vikings a few weeks later?

  12. brisulph says:

If they manage 5-5 to close (Taking divisional games in that assumption), they can win the division. However, I am feeling 8-8 for them, as their lack of depth at some spots is going to catch up to them.

  13. Eagles Fan in Nola says:

Giants – Wow. Miracle in the Meadowlands part two not only cost them the division last year, but it also set them up to play the Packers and Saints this year. Tough break.

    1. Yep, the 2nd place teams from last year (Packers & Saints as you mentioned) are far better than the 1st place teams (Bears & Falcons), although the Eagles failed to capitalize on the Falcons Week 2.
