MegaLinky – July 26, 2011 – Kevin Kolb’s last day as an Eagle

Bye, Kevin :(

UDFA signing Day 2: Who’s left? – OCC, Blogging the Boys

Nice job by Lars here listing the players still available in order of their rating on NFL’s draft tracker.

Cowboys will hold camp at Alamodome – Tom Orsborn,

We already kind of knew this, but I guess it’s not official until they paint the star at midfield.

Lockout over, coach Jason Garrett maximizes Cowboys schedule – Jaime Aron,

4 hours per day in 11 of 14 practices.

MartyB is ready to do some kicking.  And not the football – Carlos Mendez, Cowboys corner

MartyB has done nothing in his career so far.  Just do it, Marty.  Don’t say it.

(Redskins, Eagles, and Giants news after the jump)…

Maybe/maybe not Redskins new FS Will Hill

NFL free agency rush likely to include Jets bidding war with Redskins for Santonio Holmes – Gary Myers, NY Daily News

My buddy Kevin is a Jets fan.  He still despises the Redskins for signing half their team years ago, and is scared to death that they’re going to spend like drunken sailors for Holmes.  While I like Holmes as a player… a lot… and think he’s a better target than an ijury concern like Sidney Rice, the Skins need to be wary of Holmes’ motives.

The happy football life of Will Hill – Spencer Hall, Every Day Should be Saturday

Hill is rumored to have signed with the Redskins as an UDFA.  Just go read this.  Right now.

Redskins sign Will Hill: Maybe/Maybe not – Aligator Army

C’mon Redskins. Get it done.  I want to interview this guy.

With Grossman coming, Beck welcomes fight for starting QB job –

Prediction – Grossman re-signs with the Redskins, wins this battle… with ease… and actually plays OK this season.

McNabb says he has 3 or 4 years of football left in him – Bud Poliquin,

Not in DC, he doesn’t.

Shaun Draughn joining the Redskins – Parks Smith, Hogs Haven

I like his name.  It rhymes (I think).

Kolb could become Ex-Eagle today – Les Bowen,

This seems like an appropriate place to offer up my final, official prediction for the compensation the Eagles will receive in return, and just for fun I’m going to get very specific: Kolb to the Cardinals for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a 4th round pick that can become a 3rd round pick if the Cardinals win 9 games, and can become a 2 if the Cardinals win the NFC West.  Kolb must play 90% of the snaps for those conditional picks to kick in.

Former Nittany Lion Paul Posluszny to Eagles? Kevin McGuire, Penn State Nittany Lions Football Examiner

Giants are also mentioned:

Matthew Elder, Director of Scouting for told Monday night that there was a real possibility Posluszny would test the market because it was going to be unlikely the Bills could sign the former Penn State linebacker to the same kind of money he might be able to receive from potential suitors in the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles.

Eagles 2011 free agents: Who stays and who goes? – Jason Brewer, BGN

I think Jason erred on the side of the low percentage.  The one that stands out here is Stewart Bradley at 40%, and I think Jason’s right on the mark there.  I think most people expect Bradley back in Philly.  Don’t be so sure.  He wants a long term deal, and he may not find that in Philly.  31 other teams out there – Somebody will take a calculated risk.  Personally, I think it’s a mistake if the Eagles let Bradley get away.

Eagles ready for some football at Lehigh – Nick Fierro, The Morning Call

I’ll be there on Friday, and took off from my real job all next week.  No word back from the Giants, Redskins and Cowboys yet on whether or not they’re granting me credentials to cover their camps, but the Eagles have.

If the Eagles want the big win, they’d best make the big moves – Kevin Callahan, Delaware Online

The Eagles can win the Super Bowl this week.Without Michael Vick throwing a pass or Trent Cole collecting a sack, Andy Reid can finally win the Big One by the end of the work week on Friday.

If free agency decided championships, the Redskins would be a dynasty.

Stephen Nicholas headed to the Giants? – Ethan Hammerman, YES Network

I’ll be honest.  I don’t really know a lot about the guy’s game, but his numbers are good.

Several Giants on the verge of freedom – Ralph Vacchiano, The Blue Screen

We all know the long list of Giants set to become free agents by now, but here’s one last reminder.

Bradshaw keys frantic free agency period – Paul Schwartz, NY Post

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.  I don’t understand why everyone is getting so crazy about Ahmad Bradshaw.  Good player?  Sure.  Nice upside?  Maybe – To be determined.  I really don’t think it’s a killer if the Giants lose him.  Can’t pay him Top 5-10 RB money.  If someone does, wish him the best and look to fill that hole elsewhere, G Men.

As NFL lockout ends, Kevin Boss is happy to start negotiating – Mike Garofalo, Star Ledger

Sound lika man interested in finding out his worth.  I’d take roughly 20-25 NFL TE’s over Boss.  I find it hard to believe some team out there is going to pay him big money.

I have to agree on AB… I like him, he runs hard, and he makes mistakes. If someone opens the vault for him, I pray the Giants let him wander off.

  3. The Legend says:

I wonder how these Posluszney rumors started? I know Mosher brought it up & he’s a PSU grad so I kinda of dismissed it, I just don’t see it happening. If we make a move at LB its to bring back Bradley. He’s going to cost a lot of money I think & they probably want to spend that somewhere else.
