More on Plaxico as a possible Eagle – Tommy Lawlor, IgglesBlitz

Tommy thinks it’s more than just speculation.  I agree.

Burress set for prison release, possible future with rival Eagles – Bucky Brooks,

Just a reminder that he gets out today.

Plugging in the pieces: Jason Kelce – Bo Wulf, Eagles Mothership

How does Kelce fit into the Eagles’ OL.

Are you ready for some (nauseating) football – Geoff Mosher, Courier Post

Missed camp could lead to sloppy football.

Veteran CB Hobbs hasn’t decided on future after neck surgery –

He likely won’t be an Eagle either way.

(Giants, Cowboys and Redskins links after the jump)…

Instant debate: Eli, Rivers, or Big Ben – Bucky Brooks, Vic Carucci, Elliot Harrison, Pat Kirwan, Steve Wyche

It was unanimous.

NFL players show they don’t know the game by leaving Eli Manning and Mark Sanchez off top-100 list – Gary Myers, NY Daily News

And since only the bottom 50 have been revealed so far, you can count on Philly’s Michael Vick showing up in the top 50. That means players in the NFL consider Manning the worst starting quarterback in the NFC East, even though Vick didn’t open last year as the starter; Romo got hurt last year and lost at home to Manning in the 2007 playoffs when Dallas was the No. 1 seed, and McNabb was benched with three games remaining and is surely on his way out of Washington once the lockout is over.

Giants not worried about being lockout laggards – Paul Schwartz, NY Post

I don’t know that these little player-organized workouts mean anything, but as a fan I would want to see the kind of participation the Cowboys and Redskins have had a hell of a lot more that the kind of participation the Giants and Eagles have had.

Vote for NFC East’s best coach – Ed Valentine, Big Blue View

It’s a Giants site, so obviously Tommy C is going to clean up.  If I had my pick of coaches my order would go: 1. Reid 2. Tommy C 3. Garrett 4. Shanny.

Jerrel Jernigan, Giants 3rd round pick, could heat up Giants offense – Mike Garafolo, Star Ledger

The Giants thought enough of him that they drafted a player at a position that isn’t of need in favor of addressing the oldest OL in the NFL.

Could OLB Matt Roth follow Rob Ryan to the Cowboys? – OCC, Blogging the Beast

Weird quote from Roth – “I challenge you to [find] one player who wouldn’t run through a wall for him,” Roth said. “I love playing that style. I know [new coordinator] Dick Jauron’s a good coach, but I don’t want to have to deal with no nonsense. Just want to come in and play, do my job and have fun. That’s a big factor in wherever I go.”

Dez Bryant says his money troubles are done – USA Today

Dez is going to get this annoying question at least 100 times this season.

Q&A with DeMarco Murray – Jake Trotter, NewsOK

I personally think he’ll be the #2 by the time Week 1 rolls around, assuming he gets a decent amount of time in camp.

College coach says David Arkin plays with mean streak – KD Drummond, Blogging the Boys

Dallas was a great landing spot for Arkin.  I disagree with KD somewhat that he shouldn’t be expected to compete right away – He could legitimately push Leonard Davis, who was awful in 2010.

Gosselin’s off-season rankings: Cowboys don’t even sniff top-15

It’s truly a shame that Gosselin’s work resides behind a pay wall.

Who should compete with Graham Gano? – Parks Smith, Hogs Haven

Akers would be an immediate and drastic upgrade.

Redskins could seek to bolster backfield – Eric Edholm

Torain, Helu, and Royster are all going to make the team (or at least they’ll want both of their rookie draft picks to make the team), so how many backs can you carry?  Are you going to keep 4? I think they should just let Torain handle the load and give the young guys their opportunities.  It’s not like the Skins are going to compete for a championship this year, so why not give the reps to the rooks?

Colt Brennan signed with the Hartford Colonials – Aaron Wilson, National Football Post

Redskins should pass on Plaxico – Rich Tandler, Real Redskins

Agreed, although I don’t think it would matter even if they were interested.  I don’t think Plax has been sitting in jail hoping to play with guys like John Beck and Rex Grossman.

Redskins coach Bill Walsh? – Matt Terl, Redskins blog

Apparently, Walsh coached the 1982 Redskins.

  1. The Legend says:

I don’t think you’ll find too many people pick Garrett over Shanahan right now but I agree with you. Shanahan is one of the most overrated coaches in the NFL & he lives off of those two Super Bowl’s on the late 90’s. I remember last year before the season some of the analysts were all giddy about the Redskins because of McNabb & Shanahan(one of them was a former player of Shanahan so I guess that isn’t a surprise) they don’t look to smart now.
