Since the Giants finished second in the division, they’re next to go on the front page…

Giants

Eager to get back – Michael Eisen, Giants Mothership

A charitable event allowed TC the chance to see some of his players.

Manning’s body of work overlooked by peers in Top 100 voting – Pat Kirwan, NFL.com

“He has a Super Bowl MVP, a 4-3 postseason record, a lifetime 64-46 record, has never missed a start and didn’t make the Top 100 Players of 2011. If that’s not enough to make you question a top 100 list that doesn’t include Eli Manning, there are other reasons.

Who threw more touchdowns in 2010 than Philip Rivers, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Josh Freeman, Tony Romo and Donovan McNabb? Manning did, but he’s not on the list and those quarterbacks all made the top 100!”

Kirwan starts out good with that first paragraph, then blows up all his momentum with the second one.

Eli: Plax has served his time – Ohm, ESPN NY

“and then some.”

Austin in and Cofield out – Glenn Warciski, Ultimate NYG

There’s a team down I-95 that might love to get their hands on Cofield.

Eagles

Eagles hold another ‘minicamp’ – BGN

Vick supports Eagles as landing spot for Plaxico Burress – National Football Post

Would have been funny if he said, “Hell no, that guy went to jail.”

Samuel named 5th best corner in NFL’s Top 100 – Eagles Mothership

That’s just stupid.  Revis and Nnamdi, fine.  Woodson?  No, but I get it.  But who the hell could be the 4th?  I can’t even think of anyone remotely as good as Samuel after those 3 guys.

What will Juan Castillo’s defense look like – Jeff McLane, philly.com

“I can’t fail my family, brother,” Castillo said. “I got four boys. I don’t want to fail them. I can’t fail them. And that’s a big incentive when you think about it. What would you do for your kids? You would kill somebody for your kids. … So that’s what at stake.”

Odd similarities: Are the Eagles the new Colts? – Brian Solomon, McNabb or Kolb (or Vick)

Interesting comparison.

Cowboys

Cowboys plan to use top pick Tyron Smith at left tackle, instead of right – Gerry Fraley, DMN

I think that’s a mistake.

Why Cowboys owner Jerry Jones deserves applause from fans – Jean-Jacques Taylor, DMN

This is about Jones not cutting pay.  Not sure why the fans should applaud the owners for anything.

NFL defensive player power rankings – ESPN

Ware came in 2nd.  All 8 panelists voted Troy Polamalu #1.  Seriously?

Brown opens up kicking competition – Rob Phillips, Cowboys Mothership

With those news kickoff rules in place, possibly negating a big part of what makes him valuable, Buehler is in big trouble.

Cowboys player-led workouts roll on – Dave Halprin, BTB

Some quotes from Witten, Ware, and Tyron Smith.

Redskins

Ten observations from Redskins ‘minicamp’ – John Keim, washingtonexaminer.com

Is nose tackle still a Redskins need? – Brian Tinsman, Redskins Blog

Yes.

Grossman, Beck take different approaches to rookies – Dan Steinberg, DC Sports Bog

This really could be the worst QB controversy of all time.

Bunch of quotes from the rooks.

  1. Tracer Bullet says:

I HATE it when Eli’s defenders trot out that bullshit “Super Bowl MVP” argument. Anyone with one eye and half a brain could see that Justin Tuck was the MVP of that game.

  2. The Legend says:

Asante should be 3rd, the other guy besides Woodson that I can think of could be Champ Bailey which is a joke. If Asante was healthy all of last season he would of easily been 3rd.

As for the Colts/Eagles comparison, I can see where he is coming from but I still think we’ll have an agressive defense we just won’t have stupid blitzes that involve your best pass rusher in coverage
